On Friday night in Orlando, Florida, singer Christina Grimmie was fatally shot while signing autographs after a concert. In a news briefing, Orlando Police Chief John Mina provided some more details on the suspect, but he did not reveal the suspect's name.

The suspect was described as a 27 year old white male, who traveled to Orlando from another city in Florida. The suspect was armed with two handguns and a hunting knife. The suspect had plans to travel back to the other city in Florida.

Note: In the initial press briefing, the suspect was said to be 21 years old, but the Orlando Police department later clarified the suspect was 27 years old.

Responding to a reporter's question, Mina said, "There's no indication that he knew her. We're looking into that and trying to find a motive for the crime."

Mina added that they were not currently aware of the suspect having any history of stalking or any prior criminal history. In regards to if the suspect had attempted to contact Christina in the past, Mina said they were not aware of any previous contact, but they were still investigating and looking at the suspect's phone and computer.

Christina first became known as a singer through her popularity on YouTube. In 2014, Christina appeared on NBC's reality TV show The Voice, finishing third in the competition.
