MORE: Horror Movie Preview 2017
The latest horror flick trying to lure a crowd is Don’t Knock Twice, which stars Battlestar Galactica alum Katee Sackhoff. The premise of the film involves a child-stealing witch ghost that starts to pursue a young girl (Lucy Boynton); that girl runs to protection from her estranged mother (Sackhoff), and we watch maternal instincts try to combate a paranormal entity.
The film doesn’t have a lot of star power behind it (beyond Sackhoff) and the director (Caradog W. James) is still a newcomer – and all in all, this looks like it’s most likely a failed attempt at a horror film, being led out to pasture in the graveyard months. But again: if you need that horror fix to get your through the winter months…
SYNOPSIS: “Knock once to wake her from her bed, twice to raise her from the deadโฆ” So goes a disturbing urban legend involving an abandoned house supposedly inhabited by a vengeful, child-stealing witch. When troubled teen Chloe (Lucy Boynton) raps at the door one night, she has no idea the horror she’s about to unleash. Fleeing to the country home of her estranged mother (Katee Sackhoff)โa recovering addict who’s turned her life around to become a famous artistโChloe must learn to trust the woman who gave her up years ago in order to stop the bloodthirsty, shape-shifting demon stalking them.”
