One of the most talked about horror films of the festival circuit last year was the cannibal coming of age French film Raw, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film depicted such disgusting, gut-churning images that paramedics were reportedly called in response to audience members getting dizzy spells. The film has finally gotten a red band trailer, which only gives you a taste of what to expect, pun intended.

The film description is as follows:

"Everyone in Justine's family is a vet. And a vegetarian. At sixteen she's a brilliant student starting out at veterinary school where she experiences a decadent, merciless and dangerously seductive world. Desperate to fit in, she strays from her family principles and eats raw meat for the first time. Justine will soon face the terrible and unexpected consequences as her true self begins to emerge."

I got the chance to see Raw at the Chicago International Film Festival and it absolutely lives up to the hype. The film is stylish, disturbing, and feels like we've discovered some pure horror talents in director Julia Ducournau and star Garance Marillier.

Raw comes to theaters March 17 but hopefully this trailer is enough to satiate your appetite.
