According to EW, the late mother will be buried with some of her daughter’s ashes. Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd chose to honor her mother at their home where Reynolds also lived.
A family friend said in a statement, “Billie wanted the people her mother loved to gather in that living room one last time.”
One hundred twenty-five guests were in attendance including Penny Marshall, Richard Dreyfuss, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Candice Bergen. Guests ate Fisher’s famous dishes like fried chicken, collard greens and cornbread.
A friend of the family recalled, “The only things missing were Carrie and Debbie.”
The funeral was a celebration full of laughter and music. Everyone gathered to sing “Happy Days Are Here Again” as they remembered their best times with the two legends of Hollywood.
Rest in paradise, Carrie and Debbie.
