Consumer Protection BC rated a new 80-second teaser trailer for the film (via Trailer Track), Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
The first trailer featured the villain of the new film in the series, Javier Bardem, and balanced paranormal creeps with levity and humor, the latter being a trademark staple of the series.
Could we be getting our first look at series star Johnny Depp in his return as Captain Jack Sparrow? Or Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa? Will it show us just what Orlando Bloom‘s Will Turner has been up to since the end of At World’s End? Maybe the trailer will reveal the first glimpse of the pirate’s new ship, the Dying Gull?
Hopefully we find out during the Big Game and get a better look at Sparrow’s latest plundering adventure, and learn more about just why Bardem’s Captain Salazar hates the rum-guzzling pirate so much.
Johnny Depp returns to the big screen as the iconic, swashbuckling anti-hero Jack Sparrow in the all-new “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.” The rip-roaring adventure finds down-on-his-luck Captain Jack feeling the winds of ill-fortune blowing strongly his way when deadly ghost sailors, led by the terrifying Captain Salazer (Javier Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle bent on killing every pirate at sea โ notably Jack. Jack’s only hope of survival lies in the legendary Trident of Poseidon, but to find it he must forge an uneasy alliance with Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario), a brilliant and beautiful astronomer, and Henry (Brenton Thwaites), a headstrong young sailor in the Royal Navy. At the helm of the Dying Gull, his pitifull small and shabby ship, Captain Jack seeks not only to reverse his recent spate of ill fortune, but to save his very life from the most formidable and malicious foe he has never faced.
Johnny Depp returns to his iconic, Academy Award-nominated role of Captain Jack Sparrow, one of the most beloved characters in motion picture history, newly joined by Oscar-winner Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men, Skyfall), rising young stars Kaya Scodelario (The Maze Runner, British television’s Skins) and Brenton Thwaites (Maleficent, The Giver) and Golshifteh Farahani (The Patience Stone, Exodus: Gods and Kings). Rejoining the action are Academy Award winner Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa, Orlando Bloom as Will Turner, Kevin R. McNally as Joshamee Gibbs and Stephen Graham as Scrum.
