In Young Ace magazine, KKodokawa revealed it will continue its series of manga adapting the hit BBC Sherlock season. Artist Jay will return to adapt Sherlock‘s second season premiere episode “A Scandal in Belgravia,” which introduced Irene Adler, a woman with whom Sherlock Holmes comes to have a complicated relationship.
This will be the fourth Sherlock episode adapted by Jay. He adapted the series premiere, “A Study in Pink,” in 2012. In 2013, Jay moved onto the second episode, “The Blind Banker.” In 2013, Jay adapted the Season 1 finale, “The Great Game.”
Titan Comics released Sherlock: A Study in Pink as a six-issue miniseries for English language readers. It has since been collected into a single volume. Titan will release Sherlock: The Blind Banker as a miniseries beginning in January, and plans to repeat the same pattern with Sherlock: The Great Game.
Co-created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, Sherlock stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as his loyal friend, Doctor John Watson. Rupert Graves plays Inspector Lestrade.
The iconic details from Conan Doyle’s original books remain โ they live at the same address of 221b Baker Street, have the same names and, somewhere out there, Moriarty is waiting for them.
In “A Scandal in Belgravia,” a case of blackmail threatens to topple the monarchy itself, but soon Sherlock and John discover there is even more to it than that. They find themselves battling international terrorism, rogue CIA agents and a secret conspiracy involving the British government.
But this case will cast a longer shadow on their lives than they could ever imagine, as the great detective begins a long duel of wits with an antagonist as cold and ruthless and brilliant as himself: Irene Adler.
