David Morrissey, known in the U.S. for his role as The Governor on AMC's The Walking Dead, will star in a new BBC One series titled The Driver, Deadline reports. The series follows Morrissey's character, a taxi driver Vince McKee, who blames himself for a family mystery and accepts an offer to start driving for a criminal gang. The three-part thriller miniseries is reported a tale of redemption and comes from BAFTA Award-winning screenwriter Danny Brocklehurst. Ian Hart, Colm Meaney, Shaun Dingwall, Claudie Blakeley, Sacha Parkinson and Lee Ross also star and Doctor Who's Jamie Payne directs. Morrissey, whose character recently exited The Walking Dead, is set to star in an AMC pilot called Line of Sight, his contract for which was one of the earliest signs to many viewers that The Governor wouldn't make it to season five on the hit zombie drama.
