The first half of The Walking Dead‘s sixth season will have aired all eight of its episodes after this weekend. So far, the chaotic season hasn’t introduced very many relevant new characters, with the exceptions being Heath, Denise, and Dwight.

The second half of the season, according to both the comics and casting announcements, should introduce a lot more new characters.
Let’s take a look at some of them.
Jesus
ย
Tom Payne has been cast for the role of Pal “Jesus” Monroe (no relation to Deanna) and since he hasn’t debuted yet, we know he’ll arrive in the back half of this season.
Jesus is basically a ninja. Seriously. The dude catches spears thrown at him and just kicks people around with ease. He eventually becomes a right hand man to Rick, who in the comics doesn’t have a right hand, but first introduces the Alexandrians to new communities.
ย
Gregory
ย
One of those communities Jesus introduces Rick and company to is the Hilltop, with their anything but fearless leader, Gregory.
Gregory is more or less a power-hungry coward but he does a decent job of masking it for his community. He makes some costly bad decisions down the line but for a while, but heads with Rick and our survivors over their methods of survival and leadership.
Xanderย Berkeley was cast on The Walking Dead a couple of months ago and many suspect he’ll be playing Gregory.
The Hilltop
ย
The Hilltop is very much a new character.
Its introduction leads to the Larger World storyline in which the survivors begin rebuilding civilization. Don’t worry about getting bored or political, though, because it is never that easy.
The Hilltop also comes with a handful of new characters, including the aforementioned Jesus and Gregory, but also several other new faces who end up playing along with Rick and the group.
Wade
ย
Wade is not a character from the comics but instead an apparent member of the Saviors of the television series.
We’ve seen half of him and know he is ruthless when it comes to casually amputating limbs for survival but he also seems to be one of Negan’sย go-to guys for jobs like retrieving a traitor.
We’ll surely meet him (and get to know him) down the line in season six.
Negan
ย
Negan. He’s coming.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan was cast for the role and rumor has it – he’ll be making his infamous introduction in the season finale of season six.
Neganย is a ruthless, fearless, sociopathic leader of a group called th Saviors. He will kill several of our beloved Walking Dead friends and have Rick in a virtual headlock for most of season seven.
Let the slaughter begin.
