If the worlds of Power Rangers and Fast & the Furious collided, you would end up getting the amazing short film Cosmic Drift.

The short film debuted during the recent Formula Drift event at the Evergreen Speedway, and as you can see above, the team at Onion Creed Productions made numerous homage’s to the original series (via BallerStatus). From Zordon and Alpha 5 to Rita and lines like Morphinominal, Power Rangers fans will find plenty to love here. They even get their own morphing sequence, and of course, there’s the subtle reference to the Green Ranger.

Directed by Paul Biedrzycki, the short also features professional drivers like Matt Field and Chelsea DeNofa, explaining why the team was able to achieve the impressive drifts seen throughout. Granted, it is a bit unfair that the Putties have to settle for a generic mini van, but hey, minions don’t get to ride in style.

While there’s no Megazord on display here, the Racer Rangers do pull off a pretty slick looking vortex of their own by episode’s end, masterminded by the ever intelligent Billy Cranston himself. It just goes to show that when your favorite band is in trouble, you’ll do just about anything.

You can watch the entire short film in the video above. For more of Onion Creek Productions, you can head here.

Power Rangers currently enjoys a 73.23 on ComicBook.com’s composite rankings, and you can submit your rating for the film here. The official description is included below.
