Warning! Major spoilers for the Power Rangers movie are below!

In just a few weeks, Power Rangers will morph into theaters when Lionsgate live-action take on the franchise debuts. Saban's Power Rangers is set to lure both new and old fans to cinemas, and many are hoping the blockbuster breaks bank at the box-office. After all, a lucrative haul would all but guarantee a sequel, and Lionsgate could use a weighty film franchise. For now, fans will have to wait and see how Power Rangers sits with them, but they should know the film is leaving room for an entire franchise to grow.

After all, the film's newly confirmed end-credits scene will set up a new film nicely.

Earlier today, fans got confirmation that the movie would contain an end-credits scene from the director of Power Rangers. Dean Israelite spoke with Collider, and he said a short teaser scene would air after the end credits.

"It was always gonna be a coda," Israelite said. "It was always gonna be sort of a post-credits scene. The only thing that we debated about that was where it comes two and a half minutes after the main one ends, or is it gonna come right at the end of the credits. So we decided to kind of break the credits up."

However, it seems new details about the scene have already been shared. In an interview with CinemaBlend, Israelite teased what the footage would cover. The director said, "We're teasing something at the end that relates to [Tommy] so it all felt organic."

Of course, fans of the original Power Rangers series will be familiar with the name. In the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Tommy was played by Jason David Frank and became the franchise's most popular member. As the original Green Ranger, Tommy has suited up in several different colors and acted as the Power Rangers leader again and again. According to the site, Tommy is not set to physically appear in the end-credits scene, but the film's reference will set up an upcoming debut for the character.

Saban's Power Rangers follows five ordinary teens who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove - and the world - is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it's too late, band together as the Power Rangers.

Saban's Power Rangers stars Dacre Montgomery as Jason Lee Scott/the Red Ranger, RJ Cyler as Billy Cranston/the Blue Ranger, Becky G as Trini Kwan/the Yellow Ranger, Ludi Lin as Zack Taylor/the Black Ranger, Naomi Scott as Kimberly Hart/the Pink Ranger, Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa, Bill Hader as Alpha 5, and Bryan Cranston as Zordon.

The film is being directed by Project Almanac-helmer Dean Israelite and was written by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz.

Power Rangers is scheduled for release on March 24, 2017.
