It was the directing change heard around the world when Ron Howard replaced Phil Lord and Christopher Miller on the Han Solo spinoff earlier this year. While the production has appeared to get back on track, many fans have speculated about exactly what changes have been made.

Donald Glover, who plays a younger Lando Calrissian in the film, recently addressed those changes in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. According to Glover, working under Howard on the Han Solo film has been an honor, but it also comes with a bit of anxiety.

“Ron is such a legend, and he knows exactly what the vision for what he is doing is,” Glover explained. “[But Phil and Chris] hired us, so you sort of feel like, ‘I know I’m not your first choice โ€ฆ’ And you worry about that.”

Glover also said that the director switch was initially somewhat jarring, especially considering the secretive nature of LucasFilm.

“To be honest, I don’t know exactly what happened,” Glover revealed. “I feel like I was the baby in the divorce, or the youngest child. The oldest child is like, ‘We know what’s happening, but we are keeping you out of it.’ And I’m just like, [Glover’s voice rises several octaves] ‘Was that scene good? How did you feel?’”

Even with those expected worries, the film is currently projected to keep its inital 2018 release date. Howard has also provided fans with several teases of Glover’s character in the film, from a look at Lando’s costumes to several photos of the actor aboard the Millennium Falcon.

The untitled Han Solo film is set to debut on May 25, 2018.

Set prior to the events of Han Solo’s first appearance in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, the film stars Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Joonas Suotamo. The film is said to show how Han Solo and Chewbacca first met Lando Calrissian, played by Glover.
