LEGO and Star Wars have had a long and fruitful partnership stretching beyond their regular release of new playsets and models. They’ve even released a few different cartoons utilizing CG versions of Star Wars minifigs and starships, such as the Yoda Chronicles and the Freemaker Adventures.

Now a fan has released their own LEGO Star Wars movie based on the classic video game Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast. YouTube user raptor5120 created the movie starring Kyle Katarn and Jan Ors with a plot adapting the first two missions in the game. Check out the video above!
He utilizes the game’s original sound files, with Jeff Bennett’s and Star Wars Rebels‘ Vanessa Marshall’s voice work featured prominently in the movie.
The animation’s production values are well done, meaning this animator is likely to get scooped up by Disney sometime soon. Hopefully they get to adapt the rest of the video game before they start getting paid to do this.
Star Wars: Jedi Knight II was one of the best Star Wars games of its era. Though the gameplay was a ton of fun, the storyline was worthy of existing in the Extended Universe of stories and definitely warrants this animated adaptation. The audio doesn’t quite hold up to today’s standards, but it does add a layer of authenticity to the production.
Hopefully we get to see Kyle Katarn and Jan Ors return in an official capacity soon, as they were some of the most memorable figures in the Star Wars video games.
Based on the popular series of LEGO Star Wars video games, Freemaker Adventures focuses on a young family, the Freemakers, as they take parts from damaged ships to build new ones, which they then sell to make a living. Set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, the first season of The Freemaker Adventures ran for 13 episodes.
