The Art of Rogue One book has been on store shelves for over a month now (and the movie’s been in theaters for that same amount of time), so artist Andreé Wallin, who did concept art for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, has finally updated his portfolio, showing off his work on the film. The artwork is absolutely stunning, with a lot of concept on the incredible locations we see throughout the movie, like Jedha, Yavin-4, and Scarif.

The art also includes some things that didn’t wind up making it into the movie, like Director Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn)’s office on Jedha, an idea in an earlier draft of the script that was left out of the finished product.
The other images of Jedha, especially of Jedha City, were very clearly used by ILM and the visual effects team to craft the city, and his takes on things like the moored Star Destroyer are genuine works of art.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is in theaters now. Directed by Gareth Edwards, it’s the first of the new standalone features from Lucasfilm and Disney, which take place outside the core “Skywalker Saga” of films noted by an Episode number. Rogue One tells the story of the small band of rebels that were tasked with stealing the plans to the first Death Star. The story spins directly off the opening crawl from the original Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. In that crawl, it read: “Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire. During the battle, Rebel spies managed to steal secret plans to the Empire’s ultimate weapon, the DEATH STAR, an armored space station with enough power to destroy an entire planet.”
