In the last few weeks, director of the Han Solo spin-off film Ron Howard has teased a variety of different things fans can expect to see in the upcoming film, with a string of recent tweets hinting at how droids will be represented in the film.

Considering previous social media posts have included images of aliens, the Millenium Falcon, and a blurry glimpse of Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, the director’s shots of droids might not be the most compelling images, but reveal just how much fun the director seems to be having.

While Phil Lord and Chris Miller had creative leadership of the film, social media updates from the cast and crew were quite minimal, as the secrecy around the project resulted in those involved having to avoid releasing anything that wasn’t supposed to be seen by the public.

The frequent updates from Howard seem to be a directive from Lucasfilm to help generate excitement for the project, as the departure of Lord and Miller left many fans wondering if there was trouble brewing for the new film.

The untitled Han Solo film lands in theaters May 25, 2018.

More Han Solo News:

The Han Solo movie is being produced by Lucasfilm from a screenplay by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan and will be distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is the second standalone Star Wars movie following Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in 2016.

Set prior to the events of Han Solo’s first appearance in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, the film stars Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Joonas Suotamo. The film is said to show how Han Solo and Chewbacca first met Lando Calrissian, played by Glover.

Filming on the Han Solo movie began in January 2017 with Phil Lord and Christopher Miller directing. Principal photography began at Pinewood Studios in February. Lord and Miller left the Han Solo movie in June, having reportedly been fired over creative differences. Ron Howard then came on as the director to see the production to completion.
