Earlier this year, fans at Star Wars Celebration were treated to some pieces of concept art of what the Star Wars Land attraction will look like at Walt Disney theme parks. The artwork didn’t totally encapsulate everything fans could see our experience in those areas of the park, but thanks to a recent unveiling of a model of the planned park at the D23 Expo, fans have gotten their best look yet. Check out the video below of the model and see photos of the model in the gallery below.

“The model, hand-crafted by Disney’s talented Imagineers, reveals all the interplanetary nooks and crannies that will ultimately be explored by thousands of fans. From the Millennium Falcon ride to the battle of the First Order and the shops to the restaurants, Star Wars Land will no doubt be quite the immersive experience.”
Disney Parks chairman Bob Chapek introduced the model’s unveiling, accompanied by Stormtroopers, as he revealed that Star Wars Land was “the most ambitious lands that we have ever built at Walt Disney Imagineering.”

The official Disney Parks Blog shed some additional insight into the attractions:
“Both Star Wars-inspired lands will transport guests to a never-before-seen planet, a remote trading port and one of the last stops before Wild Space, where Star Wars characters and their stories come to life.”
The site added, “Guests will find themselves in the middle of the action at two signature attractions: one that lets guests take the controls of Millennium Falcon on a customized secret mission, and an epic Star Wars adventure that puts guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance.”

Additionally, InsideTheMagic shared photos of one of the rides, “The First Order Fleet Transport,” which the site has described as follows:
“Within the First Order fleet, troops, officers, and personnel traverse the interiors of massive ships using small transport vehicles. Piloted by astromech droids, these vehicles are programmed with ship schematics and security access codes.”

The Star Wars expansions will be at both Disneyland in Anaheim, CA and at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL and are expected to open in 2019.
The exhibit will be on display throughout the entire weekend celebration of D23, which runs through Sunday, July 16.
