The latest film in the Star Wars saga promises to push the battle between the Light and Dark sides into new and interesting directions. Though the Resistance scored a major victory with the destruction of Starkiller Base in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, they might be on the ropes in the next movie.

A new entry in the Star Wars Databank confirmed rumors about the Resistance new base in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and verified the link established in the art book for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story released earlier this year.
In The Last Jedi, The Resistance will be hiding out on a planet called Crait โ seen in the trailer with the speeders flying on its surface, kicking up plumes of red dust. The entry for Crait was just entered into the official Star Wars website, stating:
Now uninhabited, Crait is a mineral world dusted by a layer of white salt, reflecting the planet’s sunlight. It was once the site of a Rebel Alliance outpost, and has become a haven for the fleeing Resistance forces.
If that sound familiar, that’s because Crait first appeared in official Star Wars material earlier this year where the planet’s purpose was hinted in a new book for Rogue One.
Welcome To Crait
Fans noticed an entry in Rogue One: The Ultimate Visual Guide for a new character named Heff Tober, an X-Wing pilot portrayed in the film by First Assistant Director Toby Hefferman. The book, released earlier this year, states:
Lieutenant Heff Tobber had been stationed as a transport pilot at the rebels’ Crait outpost prior to its abandonment.
According to the rumors at the time, Crait was a planet secretly occupied by Rebel forces for mining operations. The Rebellion needed a lot of money to fund their campaign against the Empire, which had seemingly limitless resources in the beginning of the war, and used the valuable materials found on Crait to fund their efforts.
Those same rumors posited that the Resistance would return to the former Rebel base after going on the run from the First Order. But they won’t remain hidden for long.
The trailers for The Last Jedi reveal that the First Order locate the Resistance, leading Crait to host a glorious war between their new AT-M6 Heavy Assault Walkers and the Resistance Sky Speeders. The battle is heavily hinted in the trailer, with the Speeders racing toward a line of “Gorilla” Walkers, kicking up the red dust in their trails.

Admiral Raddus Rides Again
Another entry for a Resistance starship pays homage to one of the Rebellion’s successful leaders featured in Rogue One, the Mon Calamari known as Admiral Raddus.
Raddus was shown heavily in the battle over Scarif, commanding the Rebel Fleet against the might of the Imperials attempting to protect the plans for the Death Star. Raddus commands the fleet from a ship called the Profundity.
After successfully fighting off the Empire’s forces long enough for the Rogue One crew to send the Death Star plans to the Rebellion, Raddus has since been recognized and honored for his contributions.
As revealed by the Sphero App for controlling the Bluetooth-enabled droids, a new ship called the Raddus is being used by the Resistance in their battle agains the First Order.
The Raddus is described as “a heavy cruiser, retired from being used as part of the home fleet for the New Republic. The ship was then designed to be less crew intensive, eliminating unnecessary systems and computerization, making it an important resource for the Resistance’s cause.”

Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Star Wars: The Last Jedi looks to be paying homage to the events of Rogue One in quite a few ways, and the Lucasfilm Story Group seems to be capitalizing on the events by making the ties stronger.
We can’t want to learn more when Star Wars: The Last Jedi premieres in theaters on December 15.
