ThePokemon Company announced today it was opening a new retail store in the Tokyo Skytree, Japan’s largest building and the second largest building in the world. Millions visit the Skytree annually, as the tower is one of Tokyo’s more popular tourist attractions.     Pokemon: Shiny Xerneas and Shiny Yveltal to Be Distributed in May

    ComicBook.com reported over the weekend that Nintendo had begun a surprise worldwide distribution for the legendary Pokemon Zygarde. Now, news has come out that North American Pokemon fans will also receive two additional Legendary Pokemon later this month, albeit with a very limited window of opportunity. Later this month, Nintendo will distribute Xerneas and Yveltal, the mascot Pokemon for Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, to North American trainers. Both Xerneas and Yveltal will also have the alternate “Shiny” coloring, which is nearly impossible to get in normal gameplay.While the rest of the world will have until May 26

    In 1998, All Nippon Airways, the largest airline in Japan, unveiled the first of a series of jets decorated with Pokemon on its exterior. After nearly 18 years of service and 10 different jets, All Nippon announced that they had “retired” its last Pokemon Jet by repainting the jet and updating its interior.All Nippon’s Pokemon Jets offered a complete “Pokemania” experience while flying on the Pokemon jets, as the interior was also furnished with Pokemon gear. Passengers received Pokemon themed souvenir bags, ate out of Pokemon food containers and enjoyed different types of Pokemon-themed in flight entertainment.

    Viz Media to Publish a Pokemon Cookbook

    Viz Media is publishing a yummy treat for Pokemon fans this holiday season. In an interview with ICv2, Viz’s senior editorial director Beth Kawasaki announced the company will release an English edition of The Pokemon Cookbook: Easy and Fun Recipes this winter. The cookbook is already available in Japan, and features recipes for Pikachu ramen, Meowth mashed potatoes, Psyduck omelets and other Pokemon-themed dishes.
