On the cover, Dwight is seen tussling with one of the Savior’s most formidable soldiers. This all comes on the heels of Sherry revealing a plan to conquer Alexandria in the wake of the Whisperer War, though we are yet to learn when, where or how she will strike. Apparently, it won’t be long.

The synopsis for the new issue of The Walking Dead is what really should have fans worried.

The synopsis for issue #162 of The Walking Dead reads, “Dwight must defend the ruins of Alexandria against the Saviorsโ€“but what exactly are they fighting over?”

The ruins of Alexandria? The Whisperers really might be pulling out a victory despite losing the hand to hand battles. On the last pages of the most recent issue of The Walking Dead, Rick Grimes was panicking after learning that Dwight had only killed a couple hundred of their enemies. Rick knew the horde of undead that Whisperers had rounded up consisted of thousands of flesh eating bodies.

The titled of issue #163 is “Conquered” and sees Rick Grimes’ hook hand reaching up to the sky among a slew of zombie hands. Some believe Rick might bow out in the issue but, given the misleading history of The Walking Dead covers, it is likely more of a symbol for Alexandria having fallen to the reanimated.
