Sunday night marks the return of Fear the Walking Dead with its midseason 2 premiere. The episode is titled, “Grotesque” and is the 14th overall for the Walking Dead companion series.
The official synopsis for Grotesque reads, “Nick’s steadfast search for answers leads him into a deadly dog-eat-dog landscape. A dark piece of his past is uncovered.” The episode is Nick-centric, following him on his journey from the Abigail estate to Tijuana as teased in the Season 2B trailer released at San Diego Comic Con in July.

“Nick has set off on this spiritual journey, what is for him a spiritual journey,” Fear producer Dave Erickson tells ComicBook.com.
“The strange thing is that the ending of 208 is probably the one of the most hopeful moments on the show,” he adds. “He’s looking to find a new place where he feels his emotionality and psychology fit.”
Fear the Walking Dead saw Nick branch off from his group to conclude the first half of its second season. While Strand, Madison, Alicia, and Ofelia ventured back towards the Abigail yacht, Nick covered himself in walker guts and elected to walk among the undead. Celia’s views changed his perspective on the reanimated and Grotesque will introduce a new side of Nick as well as new characters, such as Danay Garcia’s Luciana.
