Season 8 has begun production in Georgia, assembling the actors who will battle it out with Negan and the Saviors and the crew which will capture the epic moments.
In the aftermath of the Season 7 finale which saw Rick’s group finally chalk up a victory of Negan’s villainous group. Rick’s Alexandria group did not go at it alone, though. It wasn’t without the the help of Maggie and her Hilltop and King Ezekiel‘s Kingdom soldiers that the good guys managed to chase the bullies out of the Safe-Zone.
Now, the good guys are ready to rally, once again.
King Ezekiel
King Ezekiel actor Kharyย Payton took to Twitter onย Wednedsdayย to share a photo from the set of The Walking Dead.ย
While the actor is likely barred from sharing a photo of his costume for Episode 8×01, which will also serve as the 100th overall episode of the AMC series, he did have a little phone capturing his shadow for fans.

“We start once more for the fallen,” Payton wrote.
The “fallen” in reference may be the nameless victims seen in Alexandria during the Season 7 finale but also includes Richard and Benjamin. The two characters were very near to Ezekiel’s heart and were taken from him late in Season 7 when a drop went bad with the Saviors outside of the Kingdom.
The Script
In April, the cast of The Walking Dead received their copies of the script for Episode 8×01 (which Comicbook.com has confirmed will be directed by executive producer Greg Nicotero).
Shortly after feasting his eyes of the script and learning what’s to come in Season 8, Carl Grimes actor Chandlers Riggs took to social media to share his reaction. Unsurprisingly, the actor loves what he read and was excited to get back in action for some new episodes.
just finished reading 801 of twd and oooo man it’s good

but tbh the coolest part of every year for me is between the airing of the season finale and getting the first script of the new season

The debates over whether or not Riggs would continue with the zombie show after graduating high school were quickly squashed when Carl survived the Season 7 finale. For years, the actor has balanced schoolwork with professional efforts on The Walking Dead and will continue to do so when he starts college in the fall.
