In preparation for Fear the Walking Dead‘s midseason finale set to air on Sunday night, AMC has released a new clip to preview the episode.

In the new clip, featured above, Nick Clark approaches Troy Otto with a goal of joining his militia. Troy, however, is taken aback by Nick’s desire to arm himself and prepare to fight Walker and the Native American group which is aiming to take Broke Jaw Ranch from the Otto family.

“Here to sign up?” Troy asks in the clip for undermining Nick with, “Got a note from home?”

When Nick is asked why he suddenly wants to join the militia, he reveals a bit of guilt he has been hiding. “Maybe I feel bad about what I’ve done,” Nick said. “You ever feel that way about anything? You know, you do something, people die, and then things get worse?”

“You should leave before worse things happen,” Troy responds.

Then, Nick gets a little passive aggressive, given his knowledge of what really happened to the Trimbol family. His disdain for Troy and the character’s actions are all going to come into play. “I got Travis killed. Now my mom has to bear that loss and my sister’s missing. I need an occupation,” Nick said. “Also, I want to protect us from the ones who killed the Trimbol’s.”
