Following Sunday night’s penultimate episode of The Walking Dead for 2016, AMC has released a batch of new photos from the Midseason 7 finale.

The midseason finale comes with very high expectations from fans of The Walking Dead. Thus far, Season 7 has featured a ton of build up and very little payoff since the Season 7 premiere on October 23. Since Glenn and Abraham had their brains bashed in front of the rest of our survivors, no other core characters have been offed though Negan has been threatening Alexandria in all of the time which has passed since.

The midseason finale promises to deliver some of the fireworks bloodthirsty fans have been waiting for. Comic book fans have a better idea of what to expect than anybody else as several characters have potentially aligned themselves for the chopping block.

The Season 7 midseason finale is called, “Hearts Still Beating.” The official synopsis for the episode reads, “Negan’s unwelcome visit to Alexandria continues as other members scavenge for supplies; things quickly spin out of control.”

The photos show the return of Carol and Morgan for the first time since Episode 7×02 which aired over 5 weeks ago. They also indicate the involvement of several characters, rather than a singular group’s perspective format as many episodes have chosen to follow this season.

The midseason 7 finale of The Walking Dead is extended to 85 minutes.
