The Walking Dead: King Ezekiel Quotes Martin Luther King Jr.

WARNING: This article contains MAJOR SPOILERS For The Walking Dead‘s latest episode – ‘Rock In The Road’!

Everyone knows that the mighty King Ezekiel is one for theatrics, as he puts on a show every single day by acting like a local theater is a throne room. His speeches, antics, and lifestyle all prove that he’s one hell of a performer, and there are some performances that he keeps close to his heart.

In episode two of this season, Ezekiel and Carol were talking in the Kingdom garden. He admitted to her that the whole ‘king’ thing was just an act, and that he was a veteran performer in local theater. During the conversation, Ezekiel mentioned that he had played many different kings over his years as an actor.

He said one of them was Martin Luther King Jr.

When tucking Ben’s son into bed, Ezekiel channeled Dr. King and gave the child a heart-warming piece of the great leader’s famous “I Have A Dream” speech.

He must remember the speech from the time he played the Civil Rights leader, as Ezekiel said,

“And when this happens, and when we allow freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God’s children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual: Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!”

Hopefully, Ezekiel will continue following in the leader’s footsteps, and rid their world of the evil tyranny that presides over it.
