Following Sunday’s new episode of The Walking Dead, AMC has released a sneak preview for Episode 7×07.

Episode 7×07 is called, “Sing Me A Song.”
Sunday’s episode did not follow up on Episode 7×05’s exciting cliffhanger which saw Carl and Jesus in the back of a truck headed straight to Negan’s Sanctuary. Episode 7×07 will. According to showrunner Scott Gimple, the two enemies of Negan have very different missions. Carl is set out on a mission with the goal of assassinating Negan while Jesus is simply out to do some recon and learn where Negan rests his head at night.
The synopsis for Sing Me A Song reads, “A deeper look at the Sanctuary and the world of the Saviors; members of Alexandria look for supplies.”
A couple of highlights from the synopsis and preview: We will see multiple groups’ perspectives and an iconic moment from the comics realized on television.
Spoilers from The Walking Dead comics follow.
In the comics, Carl takes a ride to the Sanctuary in the bed of a truck but that truck was loaded up with guns and mattresses. Upon arriving, Carl uses a machine gun to mow down a number of Saviors before running out of ammunition and being taken captive by Negan. He is not killed but, instead, manipulated and forced to sing a song for the villain. For the first time since the shooting in the No Way Out storyline’s horde, Carl is forced to remove his eyepatch and reveal his scar.
Whether or not these moments are fully realized on television is to be seen on Sunday night.
As for what Rick is up to, the safe bet is he will be introduced to the Kingdom and Ezekiel for the first time, marking the beginning of community’s coming together to take on Negan and the Saviors.
