The Walking Dead’s Season 7 premiere is upon us and, with it, we will be saying goodbye to at least one of the core cast members from the AMC series. The conclusion of Season 6 marked the conclusion of one character’s journey.
Negan made his entrance and made his mark on the group (and someone’s skull) in the the sixteenth episode of Season 6 but the victim’s identity was left a mystery. To kick of the new season, their identity will be revealed as the audience watches along in horror, the same way the dying character’s loved ones will be forced to, as well.
So, who did Negan kill? And who else is in danger in episode 7×01 of The Walking Dead, titled, “The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be”?

Rick- Safe. Rick was officially ruled out as Negan’s victim when a clip revealed at New York Comic Con showed the fearless leader in the aftermath of their beatdown. Keep an eye out for his right hand, though.
Carl- Safe. Carl is a pivotal character who writer/creator Robert Kirkman loves to explore. The teenager will continue to be the prodigy child in the apocalypse and give Rick a reason to push on for a better future. Nothing says he won’t take a emotional and/or physical beating, though, but give the kid a break. He already lost an eye.
Glenn- Danger. Lucille’s first kill on the AMC series rightfully belongs to Glenn according to The Walking Dead comics. The death is the most famous (and brutal) of the entire run to date. To further the speculation, some fans claim to have seen Hershel’s clock which was given to Glenn amongst the blood and brains left in Lucille’s wake.
Maggie- Danger. The character has been emerging as a leader but her pregnancy complications and positioning in Negan’s line-up pose a immense threat to her future. Given the blood spatter on Rick’s face (and eyeline in the aftermath), it’s not unlikely that Lucille cracked Maggie’s skull and splashed blood onto Rick.
Michonne- Safe. Likely filling in the role for Andrea from the comic books, Michonne will continue to stand by Rick’s side and take on the world with him, at least for now.
Aaron- Safe. Aaron’s death would not be an impactful enough moment for longtime fans of the series. Not to say Aaron is not a key component to the Alexandria group but he’s certainly not a Rick, Daryl, Carol, Michonne, Glenn, or Maggie. He will live on and earn such a title, though.
Eugene- Danger. Although Eugene is being ruled safe by most fans given his positioning in Negan’s line-up and the blood spattered across Rick’s face, Eugene’s fate seemed sealed in the Season 6 finale. He has passed on the bullet manufacturing recipe and come full circle in terms of survival.
Abraham- Danger. Like Maggie, Abraham’s positioning in relation to Rick and the bloodspatter on his face makes Abraham a prime candidate for Negan’s kill. It doesn’t hurt that Negan referred to whoever he killed as potentially having served as Rick’s “right hand man.”
Sasha- Safe. Like Aaron, Sasha’s death would not have a significant impact on the show. Abraham would feel the effect of her loss more than anyone else. She will be a valuable warrior in the battles to come.
Rosita- Safe. She wasn’t the last woman on Earth before but she might live to be. Rosita will survive Negan’s introduction and continue to serve as a valuable soldier for the Safe-Zone.
Daryl- Danger. Not only is the character bleeding out from an exposed bullet wound but the towel he was wearing to protect it is front and center in the aftermath of Negan’s beatdown. Either Daryl acted up during the murder or he was the unlucky winner of eeny-meeny-miny-moe. Either way, it’s ugly.
Negan- Safe. The only character who is completely safe. Everyone in the area knows that if anyone in the area were to kill him, they would also be dead before his body hit the ground.
Dwight- Safe. Dwight will continue to rival Daryl, should Daryl survive, but his troubled past will also be explored throughout the coming seasons.
Simon- Safe. Negan’s right hand man will continue to serve as such and has dozens of men around him to ensure his survival.
Carol- Safe. Likely absent from the episode, Carol will heal from her wounds the next time we see her and actually find herself in much better shape than most of the Alexandrians. Headed to the Kingdom, Carol will begin a new life but probably not in the premiere.
Morgan- Safe. Like Carol, Morgan will probably be sidelined from the premiere. Should either appear, it will likely come in the form of a tease to their location as they discover Ezekiel’s Kingdom.
Who do you think is in the most danger in The Walking Dead‘s Season 7 premiere?
