The Negan phenomenon continues to surge through pop culture.

Now, The Walking Dead‘s biggest villain has conquered the cover of Entertainment Weekly. Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan is swinging away.

Negan was first introduced in issue #100 of The Walking Dead‘s comic books in 2012. The infamous entrance did not end with a cliffhanger so much as it did Glenn’s skull being bashed in in front of Rick, Andrea, Heath, Michonne, Carl, Maggie, and Sophia. As you can tell by the list of those who were present for the brutal moments, the TV show tends to deviate from the comics a bit, so who it was that Negan killed is still up in the air.

Having made his first appearance in the season six finale of The Walking Dead, we’re going to be seeing a lot of Negan going forward. Speaking to Morgan after a press conference at San Diego Comic Con over the weekend, the actor told Comicbook.com that he is ready for “the long haul,” with this series and promised lots and lots of Negan monologues to come.

The Walking Dead will return for its seventh season October 23 at 9 PM ET on AMC. For complete coverage, insider info, and more all season long, be sure to follow me on Twitter @BrandonDavisBD and check out The Walking Dead on ComicBook.com on Facebook.
