The Walking Dead Recap With Spoilers: Season 7 Premiere

The Walking Dead Season 7 premiere starts in the aftermath of Negan killing one or more of Rick’s group. A shaken Rick has blood splattered across his face, and he is staring down at the ground. Negan asks, “What? Was the joke that bad?”

Rick looks up at Negan and mumbles, “I’m going to kill you.” Negan bends down to Rick’s level, and he says, “What? I didn’t quite catch that. You’re going to have to speak up.”

“Not today, not tomorrow, but I’m going to kill you,” replies Rick.

Negan smiles and says, “Jesus. Simon, what did he have? A knife?” Simon replies, “He had a hatchet.”

Negan chuckles and tells Rick, “Simon’s my right hand. Having one of those is important. I mean, what do you have left without them? A whole lot of work. Do you have one? Maybe one of these fine people still breathing. Oh, or did I…”

Negan waves the bloody bat in front of Rick’s face. Then, after pausing for a second, he says, “Sure, yeah, give me his ax.” Simon hands Negan the ax, and Negan rises to his feet. After putting the ax in his belt, Negan grabs Rick by the collar and starts to pull him away.

Negan says, “I’ll be right back, and maybe Rick will be with me. And if not, well, we can just turn these people inside out, won’t we? I mean the ones that are left.”

Negan drags Rick int the RV, and he slams the door shut behind them. The camera then focuses down on a bloody mess on the ground. The Walking Dead credits roll.

Commercial Break.

Rick is throne into the trailer by Negan. Negan then slams Rick’s hatchet into the table.

Upone sayins, “Let’s go for a ride,” Negan trys to start his van and fails. Then, he mocks Rick for claiming he will kill him.

He challenges Rick to grab his axe and kill him.

As Rick grabs the axe, Negan pops up and points a gun at Rick. Then he hits him in the stomach and puts the axe back in the table. He says’ “Don’t make me get up again.”

The sun starts to rise and Negan tells Rick its a brand new day. He challenges Rick to think about his decisions, how they affected the group, and what can still happen going forward.

As Negan drives, Rick has flashbacks to his people in the kneeling position. Negan runs over some zombies and stops the car.

As he sits next to Rick, Negan explains that Rick and his people belong to him now.

Negan opens the door, and a fog has consumed everything. There are a lot of walkers, and Negan throws the hatchet into them, telling Rick to “Get his axe.”

As Rick gets up, Negan throws him out of the car and closes the door. In the fog, walkers come from every angle. Rick continues to see flashes of all of his people in the lineup as the walkers attack.

Rick fights them off one-by-one, and makes his way back to the van. he climbs on the top of the vehicle and kicks off walkers on his way up.

After another flashback, Rick makes it to the top.

He stands to look around, and he sees the burning wood that blocked his path last season. As he continues to look, he sees the zombie that was hanging above it. The zombie reaches for Rick, and Rick collapses under the weight of what has happened.

Negan calls out from the van, asking Rick if he imagined a future with his people. He then tells him that isn’t how it works anymore.

As Negan tells Rick, “Think about what happened,” we fade out.

Commercial Break.

Rick lays on the roof of the van as he hears Walkers all around.

He flashes back to Negan saying he can’t decide who to kill. The eenie-meenie-miny-mo game replays from Rick’s perspective.

He looks around as Negan points at his friends. That terrified look covers his face, each member of the group is pointed at with the bat as Negan walks around.

As Negan says you are it,he points to Abraham.

Abe puts his hands up, and Sasha cries, as does Rosita.

Negan delivers his lines and smashed Abraham’s head in.

Abe tells Negan to “Suck my nuts” and Negan continues to beat his head in as the others cry.

Negan laughs, mocking Abraham, and continues to beat his skull. As everyone cries. he continues until there is no head left.

Negan splashes blood from Lucille on Rick’s face saying, “Look at my dirty girl.”

He puts the bloody bat in Rosita’s face and asks if the two were together. Then he says, “that sucks.”

Negan exclaims that Abraham took one for the team and Daryl get’s up and punches Negan in the face.

Men grab Daryl and hold him back down.

“That is a No-No” says Negan. “Not one bit of that shit flies here.”

Dwight points the crossbow at Daryl and says he will kill him.

Negan says not to kill him, and Daryl is dragged back away.

Negan says he is a man of his word, saying he needs the group to know him. So, he is going to kill another.

He turns around and hits Glenn with the bat. Glenn is muttering and Negan gets in his face.

Glenn’s eye is falling out, and he addresses Maggie as he is falling apart.

Negan tells the group he knows it’s hard, and the he is truly sorry. He did however, say no exceptions.

he then tees off on Glenn again and beats his head until nothing is left. Maggie is sobbing, and the rest of the group is seen crying.

Negan tells the group he is just getting started and that “Lucille is thirsty. She is a vampire bat.”

None of the group can take much more, all are crying heavily. Rick has a blank stare on his face.

Negan says, “was the joke that bad?”

Rick is back on top of the van and Negan screams for him to get the axe. The axe lays next to him.

Commercial Break.

Rick pops up as Negan screams for his axe. He starts shooting bulletts up through the trailer as Rick jumps over to the hanging zombie.

He slips and has to kick away those reaching up from the ground. As he struggles, Negan starts killing the zombies. He tells Rick the clock is ticking and to think about what can still happen.

Rick crawls away and sees a vision of Sasha getting killed by Lucille. As he fights, he sees each member of his group his with the bat. This includes, Maggie, Michonne, and Carl.

As Rick reaches the trailer door, Negan opens it up and helps him in.

Rick and Negan stand face to face, and Negan holds out his hand. Rick hands him the axe and sits down, Negan says, “Atta boy!”

Rick stares at Negan as they drive away, the van going down the road.

Inside, Negan stops the van, and says, ‘We’re here, prick.”

He calls out Rick for being the top dog for so long, and asks him how it feels to lose his friends in front of his son, just like that.

As he rummages through the cabinets, Negan pulls out peroxide and toys with Rick. He tells him he was addicted to being in charge.

He points the hatchet at Rick and tells him he can still be useful if used the right way. Negan tells Rick to take the hatchet.

Commercial Break.

Rick falls out of the van and Negan drags him back to his people.

He says, “here we are,” and asks Rick if he knows what the trip was about.

Rick ignores him, and Negan says to speak when spoken to.

Negan says it was about how he looked at him, like he shit in his scrambled eggs, and that isn’t going to work with him.

He asks Rick is he should get another chance.

Rick says yes, but very reluctant.

Negan says what Rick does next determines whether or not everyone dies. he tells his men to put guns to the back of everyone’s heads. He says level with their noses so it will be a real mess if they have to fire.

Negan tells Carl to get up and come over to his father right now. Negan takes his belt off and wraps it tight around Carl’s arm, saying it’s supposed to hurt.

He then tells Carl to get on the ground next to Rick and spread his arms out.

Negan asks Simon if he has a pen, and Simon tosses him one. Negan takes the cap off and marks off a line on Carl’s arm.

Rick tries to plead with Negan, saying please don’t. Negan says he won’t do anything, and tells Rick to cut off Carl’s arm on that line.

He says he will need to do it or he will kill everyone, including Carl, before he kills him as well.

Michonne says they understand, and Negan agrees but that he isn’t sure that Rick understands. He says they have a great doctor, and the kid will be fine.

Negan kneels down and says it has to happen or he can crush Carl’s skull.

Rick says it shouyld be him instead, but Negan says that isn’t an option.

Negan tells Rick he needs to make a decision. Rick screams but Negan starts counting down from three.

Negan gets right in rick’s face and makes him scream telling him this is it. Carl Tells Rick to “Just Do It.”

As Rick screams, Negan takes his arm and stops him. He tells Rick that he answers to him, provides for him, and belongs to him.

Negan has finally broken Rick, and he says that is the look he has wanted to see. he takes the hatchet and addresses the group.

Negan says they all did it, and that it was a productive day.

Negan hopes that everyone gets it now, and that they understand how things work.

“Thigns have changed. Whatever you had going for you, that is over now.”

Negan points at Daryl and asks Dwight to load him up. Dwight drags Daryl and throws him in a van.

Negan says Daryl has guts, not like Rick. Negan says Daryl belongs to him now and if Rick comes after them he will cut pieces off of Daryl or have Rick do it for him.

Negan leaves a truck and says it’s a new beginning. He will be back for his first pick-up in one week.

“Ta-Ta.”

Commercial Break.

All of Negan’s people walk away, leaving all of the group in shock. They have all been crying, some still are. Rick is bent over, complete disbelief. Sasha has her face covered, thinking about Abraham.

Rick is seen with Glenn’s body in the background.

Only the group remains, everyone is silent. Maggie stands up and Rick tries to plead with her to sit.

Maggie says no, that they all need to go get ready to fight Negan. No one reacts.

Rick says they have Daryl, and an army, and that they will die.

Maggie says “Go home, take everyone with you. I can get there by myself.”

After Rick tells her they are still there for her, she starts to lose it. She pleads for them to all leave so they don’t die.

Michonne tells Maggie they aren’t letting her go. So does Rick. Sasha walks over to Maggie, and says she will take Maggie and will keep her safe.

Maggie says she’s taking Glenn with her and kneels down.

Sasha addresses Rosita over Abraham’s body and the two agree to avenge him.

Maggie is trying to get Glenn’s body, and the group begs her to let them help.

Rick says, “He’s our family too.”

Eugene helps the girls pick up Abraham, Rick and Carl pick up Glenn.

Negan’s voice can be heard telling Rick that they will never eat together and be happy.

In a vision, everyone, including Abraham, Glenn, and Maggie’s Baby, sit and eat at a peaceful picnic table.

Rick gets into the van, and starts it up. There is a walker on the road and he drives off.
