Jeffrey Dean Morgan Reveals His Weird Walking Dead Fan Mail

When Jeffrey Dean Morgan swung into The Walking Dead, he did so with a few big bangs. The actor joined the hit AMC drama to play Negan, the manipulative and unpredictable leader of the Saviors. His entrance in Season 7 was a controversial bloodbath as Negan took out two major players from Rick Grimes' gang. Plenty of fans were horrified by the character, but it looks like there are others who felt a bit turned on.

In a recent interview with Peter Travers, Morgan talked frankly about how his life has changed since Negan came to the small screen. And, yes, he even took time to discuss weird fan-mail.

Morgan kicked off the conversation by talking about his recent trip to Atlanta for a comic convention. He said the event was the first he attended since being cast as Negan, and Morgan said the fans' response totally blew him away.

"Norman [Reedus] and I were the first ones there and the last ones to leave for two nights just because I think we've got the craziest fans. I'm starting to get weird mail," he said.

When asked to expand on what the mail entailed, Morgan played shy at first. "You know, I've gotten some mail with kind of sexual overtones."

He continued, getting into the NSFW details while Travers laughed in disbelief. "You know, 'gag me.' 'Spank me.' 'Bring Lucille.' It's just like whoa. That says a lot, man."

Sure, Negan may be a ruthless villain when it comes to The Walking Dead, but there are definitely people out there who find his power-trip arousing. It may just be Negan's leather coat, but it looks like the bat wielding baddie definitely has a growing fanbase of his own.

The official synopsis for Season 7 of The Walking Dead lies below:

"Up until this point, our characters have lived through conflicts... Disease, hunger, scores of the undead, tragedy, betrayal, and unthinkable loss. Through this, they've become formidable. Powerful. Unstoppable.

To start Season Seven, that power is taken away. They had found safety and stability. They had created a home. They thought the world was theirs. They thought they knew the world. They were wrong.

The first half of Season Seven sees our group fractured, broken, bereaved, and picking up the pieces while living under the thumb of oppression. Negan will have successfully brought the survivors under his control, brutally convincing them to live under his rules with a deadly and horrific example of what happens if they don't.

Other characters are unaware of what's happened, but have become separated from the group either by incident or choice -- they will learn that they can't escape this new turn of their world, either. This half season is about these characters starting over.

The overall theme of the season is beginning again. The world isn't what they thought it was. It's bigger and it's even more dangerous."
