If you wanted to see more Negan this season, The Walking Dead has definitely delivered. Last week, the villain has been featured more than any other character, and tonight’s midseason finale looks to be the same.

As if having Negan around wasn’t enough, fans have been getting jazzed about the prospect of seeing Negan in all his comic-glory at some point this season, and the previews for ‘Hearts Still Beating’ as teased that they will get just that.

The comic version of Negan has always been clean-shaven, as a way to appear more professional to his subjects and enemies. Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s iteration of the character however, has had a beard since his first episode.

The difference in appearance was due to Morgan’s role on The Good Wife, but the series has since ended. Since the creative team behind The Walking Dead didn’t just want to change the character’s appearance on a whim, they waited until he took over Alexandria to let him don the new look.

AMC released a new photo ahead of Sunday’s midseason finale, and it features Negan in all of his beard-less glroy. Not only is it meant to show off the character’s new/old look, but it teases that danger is ahead for the other characters on the show.

Negan has blood spattered on his clean face in the photo, and the caption over his cold stare reads, “Lucille is hungry.” This cannot be good news for the folks in Alexandria.

Rick and Aaron are likely to return home to find that Negan has taken over their community. If anyone tries to stand in the villain’s way, Lucille will get another treat, much like she did earlier this season.

By the looks of this photo, she already has.
