WARNING: Spoilers ahead for The Walking Dead season seven!

The ratings have been steadily dropping on The Walking Dead this season, and it looks like the reviews of the latest episodes have reflected this trend.

The last couple of episodes have garnered very negative reviews from critics, many claiming that the pacing and writing of the series has taken a major downhill turn. While critics only make up a small portion of the audience, it seems as though many fans feel the same way.

The most recent episode, 'Swear', debuted on Sunday night, and focused on Tara's interaction with a new community. The entire hour of telvision didn't feature Rick, Negan, Carol, Michonne, or any of the characters fans have been asking for. Instead, the show introduced another new colony, Oceanside, and continued with the trend of mass world building.

It's clear that fans aren't happy with the show's direction, and thir reviews reflect that as well.

On IMDb, every episode of every series can be rated by fans. The same scale applies to the ratings of movies. Each week, thousands of Walking Dead fans head to the movie site, and rate the episode on a scale of 1-10.

After over 1300 reviews, 'Swear' sits at a meager 7.0 rating. Sure, that's still passing, but it's nothing compared to the heights the show has previously soared to. The 7.0 rating is also the second-lowest of the series, with another episode recording a 6.1.

That episode? The season six finale, where fans were left angered by the Negan cliffhanger.

It's entirely possible that these episodes aren't that bad, and fans are just taking out their anger. However, this continues a trend of poor fan reviews of recent episodes. 'The Well' and 'Go Getters' also come in the bottom ten episodes, with 7.5 and 7.4 scores respectively.
