If you’re planning a day in with the family, picking a movie or show to watch can be a tough order. You have a lot of great options with a Peacock subscription, but they may not be appropriate for everyone. While things like Poker Face and Twisted Metal are certainly a great time, and we recommend them, they might be too violent or crude for younger kids. And older kids and parents probably won’t make it through 50 episodes of Madagascar: A Little Wild.

These three options should have something for everyone. Even better, they’re short enough that you can binge all of them in a single afternoon.
3) SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night

Late-night variety/sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live had its 50-year anniversary in 2025, and Peacock has several specials to celebrate the milestone. These shows include an anniversary special, a commemorative concert, and Beyond Saturday Night, a four-episode, in-depth look at the series’ history.
Episodes cover the audition process, what happens in the writers’ room, and the pivotal 11th season, which changed the show forever. Beyond Saturday Night even devotes an entire, 49-minute episode to 2000’s legendary “More Cowbell” sketch.
This series may not be completely family-friendly (it’s rated TV-MA), but if your group regularly tunes in on Saturday nights, you’ll enjoy this look behind the scenes.
2) Supernatural Academy

Supernatural Academy ran for a single season in 2022, and all 16 episodes are up on Peacock. They’re short, though, so you can get through the whole thing in an afternoon.
It tells the story of Mischa and Jessa, twins who have spent their first 16 years unaware the other existed. Also, they’re werewolves. Jessa goes to the eponymous school, which is full of other supernatural and mythical creatures.
The series show’s Mischa’s discovery of both the supernatural world and her own powers, along with her unwitting enrollment at Supernatural Academy. The series can be a little tonally mature, especially against its child-friendly visual style, but it shouldn’t be too scary for small kids.
1) Baking It

This baking contest started as a holiday special for producer and cohost Amy Poehler’s other competition show, Making It. If you’ve ever watched The Great British Baking Show, you get the format: Charming and lovable home bakers do judged challenges each episode. The twist here is that instead of individual competitors, the show starts with eight teams of two.
Another fun part of Baking It is the judges; rather than the usual gamut of celebrity chefs and celebrities, the main panel consists of four opinionated grandmas. It’s both adorable and scary; the contestants are brave to risk disappointing a grannie.
Baking It ran for a total of 12 episodes across two seasons. It’ll take the whole day to get through the entire series, but it will be a delightful day. The show will make you super hungry, though, so be sure to stock up on snacks (or bake your own).
