SyFy has released the first official trailer for what may be its strangest original series yet.
Happy! is based on the Image Comics graphic novel by Grant Morrison (All-Star Superman, Batman & Robin) and Darick Robertson (Transmetropolitan, The Boys) and stars Christopher Meloni as Nick Sax, a down on his luck ex-cop turned hitman who should be dead.

Instead, Sax survives his brush with death and makes a new friend. Specifically, an imaginary friend named Happy. Nick is enlisted by Happy to save the young girl who imagined him from a killer disguised as Santa Claus.
Meloni, who is best known for his role as Detective Elliot Stabler on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, has also appeared in comedies like the Harold & Kumar movies, and he admits that it can be fun to lose himself in an over the top role like Nick Sax.
“Yeah, you get to open up a lot of valves that just having to operate in polite society get closed down, and if you’re doing drama, you’re tackling the material from a different angle,” Meloni told ComicBook.com previously. “The fantasy aspect, the really very few rules aspect, that’s really freeing.”
Happy! will debut on SyFy on November 29th at 10 p.m. ET.
