As audiences witnessed at the conclusion of Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness, Joe Exotic was incarcerated for a number of instances of animal abuse, as the rest of the figures from the documentary series gained newfound fame, with Investigation Discovery delivering all-new documentaries chronicling Exotic himself, which feature interviews with the lively figure from prison. Joe Exotic: Tigers, Lies, and Cover-Up will explore theories regarding Exotic and new clues that have emerged since the original documentary series went public, while Joe Exotic: Before He Was King serves as a prequel to that investigation, chronicling the events that led to his imprisonment.
