Jim Ross Signs Two-Year Contract with WWE

If there weren't enough headlines coming out of WrestleMania 33 - including the return of longtime legends like The Hardy Boyz, and the loss of a legend in The Undertaker - there is also a big piece of behind-the-scenes news to report:

Jim "JR" Ross has officially signed a two-year deal to return to the WWE!

Going into the weekend it was reported that JR was going to sign a new deal with WWE, with reports that he would begin with an appearance at WrestleMania over the weekend. JR did indeed make an appearance, helping to say goodbye to The Undertaker by announcing his match against Roman Reigns - his retirement match, as it happened.

Jim Ross has had a hard year, so far; he tragically lost his wife in an accident, which sent an outpouring of love and support from WWE fans. Judging by the crowd reaction last night, JR probably feels a lot like fellow WWE comeback kids The Hardy Boyz, right now: overwhelmed by the love the fans clearly have for him.

Speaking with Fox Sports (via Cageside Seats), Ross said that while he wont be announcing full time, he'll be back when the right occasions present themselves over the next few years:

"It has a specific number of dates that I'm obligated to work, which I think is good for me. So look at it this way: I got my jersey back. I got brought back to my home team, and my opportunities back in WWE, I'm sure, will be multi-fold... So if the team needs me to play, to work more than they anticipated because they need it, I'm in."

Needless to say, WWE fans are hoping those overages happen.
