Over the last few years, Chadwick Boseman has been receiving praise for his performances in James Brown and Jackie Robinson biopics, but attention is starting to shift to his role in the Marvel cinematic universe. Boseman won the coveted role of Black Panther and will make his debut in Captain America: Civil War in 2016.

Boseman was recently asked about transitioning to a fictional Black Panther role after portraying real-life people like Brown and Robinson. "You try to tell the Marvel fans that he isn't real," Chadwick Boseman told Collider. "That's even more scary. I would rather have something that I can put my whole life into. When you make movies, it's such an important period of time, when you look back at each one of them. You want to be able to say that you did something that was a challenge and that changed you. For me, that's all that it's about. You put that type of energy into each thing, regardless of what it is."

Black Panther will arrive in theaters November 3, 2017.
