The Walking Dead is deep into season 6 production, meaning it's it's time to get our hopes up for new characters and storylines. Here's hoping they aren't smashed by a baseball bat named Lucille.

Should it stay true to it's four-color source material, The Walking Dead, could still introduce a handful of familiar characters. We've come up with a list of characters we hope to see when The Walking Dead returns to AMC for it's sixth season in October.

Heath

Earlier this week it was confirmed The Walking Dead has cast their TV version of Heath. Heath is a supply runner at Alexandria who becomes buddies with Glenn. Glenn could definitely use a friend. One day, the two are out on a run and encounter the DC Scavengers for this first time, watching one feed another to zombies in order to escape himself. Later, Heath comes a herder which is a crucial group in the All Out War storyline where Alexandria faces off with the Saviors.

Paul "Jesus" Monroe

Jesus is a favorite among readers with great reason. The guy is like a post-apocalyptic ninja. The new Morgan who returned in the season five finale seemed to have a lot of the characteristics of Jesus, but replacing this character seems unlikely. Why? His introduction is what leads Rick and the group to fining other communities to begin trade and other work with

Also: despite the last name Monroe, there is no familial relation to the Monroe who lead Alexandria in the comics.

Derek

The DC Scavengers from the comics appear to have been replaced by the Wolves on television. Derek is there fearless, stupid leader. We still want to see him, though. It's always fun (at least, for the audience) to watch Rick ruin a few humans over ridiculous conflict. Derek tries to insist his way into Alexandria but those hopes are dashed when he and his men are gunned down.

Morales

Yeah, there hasn't been any indication or reason to believe he would return, but hear me out... If Morgan replaces Jesus on TV, it would be awesome to have Morales show up with connections to other communities. Season one originals are hard to come by because so many of them are dead. Bringing back Morales (with or without his family, either way could make for an interesting character) would be awesome.

TWDnegan

Negan

What would a list of characters we want to see be without Negan? The ruthless, narcissistic misogynist is a great villain to read because he is truly unpredictable. If AMC manages to pull off Negan on TV with the same demeanor, reckless, and despicable qualities it'll be the same kind of hate characters on Game of Thrones get. No, he'll never be able to say his famous, "Mother f---ing d--- f--- c--- f---ing f--- f---ity f--- f---er f---ing f--- f---ers," line but he can still be the most entertaining and epic menace ever on television nonetheless.

Imagine how insane Negan's introduction is going to be whenever he finally arrives on TV? At the rate the show is moving, we could see him as soon as the season six finale. Season five averaged about 11 issues per eight episodes, ending on issue 79. At the rate, we just might arrive at Negan's issue 100 introduction in episode 16 of The Walking Dead's sixth season.
