Young Justice Showrunner Is Ready To Go For Season 3

Young Justice showrunner Brandon Vietti would be just as happy as fans to see more seasons of the defunct animated series, he told ComicBook.com during a red carpet interview for his new film LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League ‑ Cosmic Clash.

Following the massive outpouring of fan support for a third season -- renewed yet again when Season Two recently made its way to Netflix, we asked the producer whether he thought there was any hope for a third season of the cult favorite.

"I don't know," said Vietti with a laugh. "That's the best answer I can give you. I'd be happy to do another one; Greg [Weisman] would be; Phil Bourassa, the character designer. We'd all in a heartbeat come back to do a third season if the Powers-That-Be feel they want to do that."

You can see the interview below.

There are stories already conceived for what would be future seasons, Vietti revealed, and a series bible that goes well beyond what's already been created.

"I love that world. We were not done telling stories; we had tons of ideas for more seasons ready to go, so yeah, I'd love to get into it."

He added that Weisman had been writing a timeline for the show, including stories that have already been broken in previous seasons, didn't make it into the existing shows for whatever reason, and were ultimately planned for Season Three.

Young Justice aired on Cartoon Network until its cancellation in 2013, and spanned two seasons, a video game, and a tie-in comic book series. Since its cancellation, the show has had a steady stream of support from fans asking for more.

CW Seed needs to pick it up. They could use the actors from Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl to reprise their voices. IT COULD WORK

It'd be awesome if it came back, but I hope not to CN.The lineup isn't that great, and every show relies on 11 minute segments which doesn't help story driven shows. Maybe Toonami!

No. Please don't use the actors from Arrowverse. Please don't. Keep Young Justice a separate world. I reckon you're a fan of those shows; I watch them myself. I, however, prefer YJ by leaps and bounds. The voice actors did a fine job -- amazing, in fact. Replacing them would be unjust, especially if it's just to cater to CW fangirls and fanboys. The Berlanti casts have their live action shows, plus an animated web show in Vixen. Please learn not to be greedy. Leave YJ alone. It's set in a separate universe and it has its own voice actors who deserve to reprise their roles.

  1. Netflix could pick it up...

Is that a joke about you wanting to change the voice actors to the ones from the Arrowverse? You do know Young Justice had everyone's favorite ginger as Wally West over the one in Flash which is the at risk kid. The acting in Young Justice is even superior to the Arrowverse, so why would anyone want that? I just hope if Young Justice gets a season 3 it doesn't become Teen Titan Go like. I remember before TTG was made it was said it was going to be the next season of Teen Titans, yet it became the crapfest TTG instead.
