Ben Affleck Says Dawn of Justice Is A Movie For The Audience

Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice isn't getting the critical response filmmakers hope for (but it's still making a lot of money). The cast and crew are aware of this fact and they've even weighed in on the subject.

That said, some critics have approved of Dawn of Justice. One of them resides right here on ComicBook.com and on last night's episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the late night host brought our review to the attention of Batman himself.

"ComicBook.com said Affleck is the greatest on screen Batman," Fallon pointed out to.

"Don't scare people into thinking this is a critical film!" Affleck pleaded while the crowd applauded. "We're not going for the film critics circle or whatever. This is an audience movie! People are actually gonna like this movie!"

Fan reactions have certainly been better than critics, though still very much mixed.

  1. Wow, congrats on the shout out.

  2. Its not though. There are things as a fan that I found deplorable and baffling. Some of the choices characters make in here are the complete opposite of their predetermined ideology thats been created by their vast comics history. There has to be some legitimacy to what the critics are saying; at leas t the unbiased ones. It cant all be hate. When I left the theater, folks were mixed. Some were laughing...

  3. It's for the fans. Totally. The theater clapped with a standing ovation after the credits rolled. My younger sister, who never watched a superhero movie before, loved it. Knows nothing of Marvel/DC out of CW's Flash but she loved it. It's totally for the fans. Just because one or two people who were going into this film listening to the critics anyway didn't like it, doesn't mean it's not for the fans. That's all I'm going to say about that. Everyone I've talked to has enjoyed the film and a status I made praising the film got tons of positive interactions, most being "Yeah, I don't listen to critics anyway".

Wow only 1 negative comment. I must be early. Can't wait for more people who listen to critics, don't form their own opinions and/or just hate DC to comment.
