X-Men #1

Around a week ago, Marvel Comics released an XX teaser for a new series from writer Brian Wood and artist Olivier Coipel. Comicbook.com speculated at the time that it was likely a teaser for an all female X-men team book, and it turns out that we were correct. In an article on USA Today, the cover for X-Men #1 has been revealed, and it features Storm, Rogue, Jubilee, Kitty Pryde, Psylocke, and Rachel Grey. While the series includes six female X-Men, Jubilee will be featured as the main star of the series.  The initial storyline will revolve around the villain Sublime and Jubilee bringing home an orphaned baby, who might play into mankind's survival. Sublime will have to go to the X-Men for help from a threat that he is facing. Even though the series is a change from previous X-Men teams since it features an all-female cast, writer Brian Wood plans to take classic X-Men approach to the comic. Wood said, "Marvel takes a look at its spectrum of X-Men books and fills needs. This is the book that is like a traditional X-Men book." X-Men #1 is set to arrive in comic book stores in April. It will be the third X-Men title to be launched under the Marvel NOW banner.
