Next up, we have Kino der Toten, aka the Theater of the Dead, which originally appeared in Call of Duty: Black Ops. As the name suggests, this map takes place in a zombie-infested movie theater, with a lot of small closed-off rooms, and some new elements including crawler zombies and the badass undead-frying Thundergun. Parts of the stage bear a rather striking resemblance to the theater at the end of Inglorious Basterds, which makes sense, as Black Ops came out around a year after the movie. The remastered version of Kino der Toten packs the map with new levels of gruesome detail.
And finally, we have Ascension, which originally also originally appeared in Call of Duty: Black Ops. This one takes place in and around the abandoned Russian Cosmodrome, which sets up zombies eventually ending up on the moon (uh, spoilers). This one was perhaps the biggest Zombies map yet, and includes undead space monkeys, because of course it does. This new version of Ascension is much darker and more atmospheric than the original, making it feel more like classic maps like Nacht Der Untoten.

For those keeping track, in addition to Nacht Der Untoten, Verruckt, Shi No Numa, Kino der Toten, Ascension, and Shangri-La, Zombies Chronicles also contains the maps Moon, and Origins. Hopefully we soon get a better look at them, as well.
Call of Duty: Black Ops III Zombies Chronicles shambles onto PS4 on May 16 and PC and Xbox One on June 16. You can check out WWG's latest Call of Duty coverage here, and our extensive back catalog of stories, right here.
