Between pleasing the notoriously difficult-to-please comic book audience and being a representative of the LGBT community, The Flash's Anty Mientus admitted in a recent red carpet interview that he does, indeed, feel some pressure to perform as Pied Piper in the hit CW superhero drama.

Talking to Variety at the premiere for Into the Woods, Mientus admitted that he had a lot on his mind. He did say, though, that he's more worried about pleasing the comic book fans than he is with an ambassador.

"With the gay thing, I feel like I'm representing a whole community," Mientus said. "People are excited to see this character, so it is a lot of pressure. But I'm glad they are introducing the character to the show. It's a huge step forward, and I'm thrilled to help make that happen. It's awesome."

"The universe of The Flash has such an intense, passionate fanbase, which has existed since the '60s, and this is the first time he's been in a live-action, on-camera interpretation, so I hope I pulled it off," he added.

The Flash returns to The CW in January with new episodes on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
