“We received a call at 11:31 p.m. from [Kilmer’s’ address,” a spokesperson for the Sant Monica Fire Department said. “He was transported ALS [advanced life support] to the hospital” following a 911 call.
Initial reports were that he was suffering a tumor in his throat; Kilmer denied it but gave little in the way of specifics as to what sent him to the hospital.
“I have not had a tumor, or a tumor operations, or any operation,” Kilmer wrote on his Facebook page. “I had a complication where the best way to receive care was to stay under the watchful eye of the UCLA ICU.”
He added, “I am praying for a speedy return to the boards as they say. God bless you all and please don’t worry.”
