If given the chance to combat a DC Comics hero or villain who's not in The CW’s Arrow-Verse, Stephen Amell already knows who his Emerald Archer would lock horns with.
And it's DC’s top gun, Batman. It shouldn’t be much of a shocker. After all, who wouldn’t want to square off against the Dark Knight? When asked at last week’s Planet Comic Con who’d he’d enter the arena with, Amell gave a sly pause before uttering the Caped Crusader’s name. Cue massive audience applause.
But despite wanting to fight Batman, Amell has a deep appreciation for the character's mythos. When another panel attendee questioned Arrow’s current borrowing of Batman villain Ra’s al Ghul, Amell said that if DC has great source material to mine, then Arrow should certainly take the opportunity to use it.
“I understand that there’s a bit of a crossover into the Batman mythos," Amell said. “But I think that our show has earned the right to do what we think is the most interesting story.”
You can see Amell address the Dark Knight at the 4:00 and 12:00 minute marks.
Of course, the real question now is, who would win in said fight: Arrow, or Batman? Choose your victor in the comments below.
Arrow returns to the CW on Wednesday, March 18 at 8:00 p.m.
