Not that job security is ever really a thing if you're an actor on The Walking Dead, but three cast members introduced in season five have been promoted to series regulars for season six.

Tovah Feldshuh, Alexandra Breckenridge, and Austin Nichols, who play Deanna Monroe, Jessie Anderson, and Spencer Monroe, have all been bumped up in the billing - which is very interesting from the aspect of a Walking Dead comic book fan.

If The Walking Dead were to follow the comics accurately in its sixth season, two of those three characters are on the nearby chopping block. Don't read any further if you don't want to see some potential spoilers.

However, comic fans know that Deanna's comic book equivalent, Douglas, and Jessie's comic book equivalent with the same name, should both be set for a curtain call in the coming episodes. Shortly after Rick shoots Pete in the comics, a loud gun scuffle with the DC Scavengers (popularly presumed to be the Wolves on TV) attracts an insanely large horde of walkers to Alexandria and guess who goes down with the walls. Yep, Douglas and Jessie.

Douglas's death is crucial, seeing as while he is getting devoured he fires shots in every direction and takes out a chunk of Carl's head, including his eye. With Dr. Denise Cloyd in place for season six, portrayed by Merit Wever, it seemed as though all the foundation for Carl's face lift were in place. If Deanna is sticking around, maybe Carl isn't going to take a bullet to the dome after all, or maybe someone else will do the honors.

Spencer, on the other hand, should be sticking around until our friend Negan shows up. Let's just hope he can stomach it.

Either way, moral of the story is Feldshuh, Breckenridge, and Nichols have been bumped up to regulars for when The Walking Dead returns on October 11.
