Mon ami, whether Rogue appears in the Gambit solo film, starring Channing Tatum as the card-tossing mutant, is still undetermined, but we do know if she does appear she won't be portrayed by Anna Paquin (True Blood), who has played the role in four X-Men movies -- X-Men, X2: X-Men United, X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Earlier today, Paquin was asked by a fan if she would appear in Gambit and she simply responded: "No."

Gambit and Rogue have had many ups and downs: breaking-up and making-up numerous times, but no matter what, it is one of the best love stories in all of Marvel Comics. It would be a shame if Rogue wasn't a part of Gambit's solo film. Though, it seems that she might be based on a July interview in which Tatum didn't dismiss the possibility when the subject was broached.

Either way, Gambit has more things to worry about than a mutant love interest as it is still in need of a new director ever since Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) exited the project a couple weeks ago.

Gambit is scheduled for released on October 7, 2016.
