Mark Millar and Rafael Albuquerque are creating a new kind of hero in Huck, their new comic book series that’s meant to pump the positivity back into superhero stories. The story is based on someone Millar met, who told him he “tries to do a nice thing every day,” as Millar told ComicBook.com back in August. The story is meant to bring that sense of optimism and awe into the comic book world.

And that brings them to a unique series of variants, the “Huck Feel-Good Movie Variants,” where the covers are based on or homages to movies that keep a similar sensibility about them. Today, we’re exclusively debuting the first of these, a variant by series artist Rafa Albuquerque based on The Goonies.

“The idea with Huck is to do the ultimate feel-good comic,” Millar told ComicBook.com. “Rafa and I have created a character here that’s unlike anything else on the market and we’re really excited about it. Our idea for the variants here is to have a little fun and do homages to classic feel-good movies. We’ve got things like ET and so on coming up, this first one being a tip of the hat to The Goonies. He’s done an amazing job on this book by the way. I think people are going to be weeping when they read this book.”
