The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is (unofficially) coming to New York. Several Ithaca, NY businesses are banding together on Halloween to transform an alleyway into a wizarding street inspired by Diagon Alley from Harry Potter. Shopkeepers and stores in the alley will dress up as wizards and witches for the event and encouraging their customers to dress up as their favorite magical beings.

The "Wizarding Weekend" will include, crafts, circus demonstrations and trick or treat for kids under 12. The event will also have a costume contest, with awards for best wizard and best "muggle" costumes. Food trucks and cider will also be available to keep everyone warm and full during the magical weekend.

"Wizarding Weekend" is open to the public and over 4,000 guests have confirmed their attendance on Facebook. Life's So Chocolate, a chocolate store organizing the event, has placed out a call for volunteers for those looking to help make Ithaca a little more magical next weekend. The event goes from 1 PM - 6 PM, so make yourself a magical reminder (or just mark your calendar).
