According to THR, Saban Films has acquired the North American rights to 31, the latest horror film Rob Zombie wrote and directed.

31 made its debut at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival, but news on the project went cold after that because the original distributor, Alchemy, experienced financial difficulties. Now that it is in the hands of Saban, fans should expect a trailer and a new one-sheet to follow.

On the day before Halloween, five friends are kidnapped. While they are held hostage, they must play a violent game called 31, in which the mission is to survive 12 hours against a gang of evil clowns.

The cast includes: Sheri Moon Zombie, Malcolm McDowell, Richard Brake, Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs, Jeff Daniel Phillips and Meg Foster.

31 will have a limited theatrical release on Sept. 16.
