On Sunday, Dan Aykroyd posted the very first review of Paul Feig's female-led Ghostbusters movie and boldly claimed that the reboot is better than 1984's Ghostbusters and 1989's Ghostbusters II, two films he starred in and co-wrote with the late, great Harold Ramis.

"As originator of the original: Saw test screening of new movie. Apart from brilliant, genuine performances from the cast both female and male, it has more laughs and more scares than the first 2 films," wrote Aykroyd, "plus Bill Murray is in it! As one of millions of man-fans and Ray Stantz, I'm paying to see that and bringing all my friends!"

While many people would love to take Aykroyd's words at face value, we all have to remember that he has a significant financial stake in the film and the franchise as a whole. Aykroyd is one of the many executive producers on Feig's reboot and has part ownership of the rights to Ghostbusters. It is in his best interest to say something positive.

Plus, he makes a cameo in the film.

Ghostbusters makes its long-awaited return, rebooted with a cast of hilarious new characters. Thirty years after the beloved original franchise took the world by storm, director Paul Feig brings his fresh take to the supernatural comedy, joined by some of the funniest actors working today – Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Chris Hemsworth. This summer, they're here to save the world!

The film is directed by Paul Feig (The Heat, Bridesmaids), written by Feig and Katie Dippold, and produced by Ivan Reitman and Amy Pascal. Feig, Jessie Henderson, Tom Pollock, Joe Medjuck, Ali Bell, Michele Imperato Stabile, and Dan Aykroyd are its executive producers. The cast features Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, Charles Dance, Michael Kenneth Williams and Chris Hemsworth.

Ghostbusters is due in theaters July 15, 2016.
