If you’ve been playing Pokemon Go since its release date two weeks ago, you’ve probably discovered your leveling up slows down substantially after you reach Level 15. The amount of XP needed to level up increases exponentially after Level 10, doubling from 10,000 XP to reach Level 10 to 20,000 XP to reach Level 15.

That XP requirement keeps going up, jumping to 100,000 XP to reach Level 20 and 500,000 XP to reach Level 30. According to a recent look at Pokemon Go‘s data, the highest level obtainable in Pokemon Go is Level 40, which requires a whopping 25,000,000 XP to reach. No one has reached the Mount Everest of Pokemon Go, so we can’t tell you what sort of reward reaching Level 40 will get you. We know that Level 20 unlocks Ultra Balls, Level 25 unlocks Max Potions and Level 30 unlocks Max Revives, so Level 35 and Level 40 should be some pretty cool rewards. Perhaps Level 40 will unlock a Master Ball? We’ll probably have to wait at least a few more weeks to find out, unless Niantic CEO John Hanke decides to spill the beans this week at SDCC.
